The quality of your life is the quality of your relationships.

Don’t wait for the one you can live with, wait for the one you can’t like without
In my 6 years of being “single” again, probably 4 of them have been spent trying to rectify that! After about 1 and a half years of trying to acclimate myself and my 2 young teenage kids to: Living without their dad, moving back from living in a different country. Finding a place to live and a job with benefits to support us, I was walking about in a bit of haze which caused me to be in a bit of daze. Then I met a man, wasn’t looking but found him anyway. Needless to say, it didn’t work out but the most important lesson I learned was that I liked having a significant other! Now my idea of what exactly that entails has changed and developed through the years. I have had a few relationships through the years that have helped me to define what I want and need. I have been a little back and forth (hope I’m done) about what that entails but I feel confident that I know what I’d like. Now to find him! I have read (sort of) a lot of the self-help relationship books. I found myself picking and choosing what was convenient or palatable for me. In other words, I misused them. I did find several books and ideas that I not only liked but felt that I could actually put in practice. I bought notebooks, made a prayer box and opened my self to the universe. Was I being too discriminatory, not discriminatory enough? I don’t know. Alas, I am still here, alone. So I am embarking on a journey (virtual) to find my partner, soul mate (yes, I said it!), the person to who I hope will be with me until the final chapter. The knee-popping kind!
I hope you’ll join me in this journey. I can’t promise that it will be easy but I sure do hope it will be fun!

It is not a lack of love, but a lack of friendship that makes unhappy marriages.
