‘Home is your corner of the world’. ♥ Ilse Crawford
It’s funny how little things like someone leaving the toilet seat up or toothpaste all over the sink, can make you crazy. Not to mention if you like your toilet paper roller over or under. But, it’s not just the things that could cause bodily harm (and if you ever flopped down on an unseated toilet, you’d know what I’m sayin’) that annoy us….It is also the things that assault us aesthetically.
We like our things where we put them. You can use that ashtray or sit in that chair but when you are done, put it back. Exactly. Where. it. Was. Obsessive-compulsive? Maybe. Or maybe we are just creatures of habit. We like the familiarity of knowing where things are. So many things in life are beyond our control. This is one place that is clearly ours.
“He’s got that obsessive compulsive thing where everything has to match. If you open our fridge, it’s all coordinated down either side.”
‘Home is a name, a word, it is a strong one; stronger than magician ever spoke, or spirit ever answered to, in the strongest conjuration’. ♥ Charles Dickens
