The other day I took a walk in my neighbourhood. It jogged a memory of last spring. I was walking and texting with my son who was away at school. I was telling him about that particular walk and inviting him to be my walking “buddy” when he came home for summer break. I even got us matching pedometers! And walk we did….and talk as well! Until it got too hot or stormy, we walked nightly. How very blessed I was to have a 21 year old son who still wanted to hang out with me! (Of course, the promise of stopping at McDonalds or the corner gas station on our route didn’t hurt either!) Then he went back to school and I I am resuming my walks..I wish I had said….thank you. Thank you for sharing yourself….for letting me get to know the amazing individual you have become. I wish I had told him…what a beautiful, intelligent person he is and how proud I am of his accomplishments! And how proud I am that he calls me mom!
