    You’re on to something: in order to succeed, we’ve gotta find people to keep us accountable. There’s this concept in psychology called “delay discounting” and it’s our tendency to go for a small instant reward rather than a bigger reward later.

    For example, in a study, 30-year-olds would rather get $10 today, rather than $100 a year from now. And, so many times we go for the instant gratification of chocolate cake instead of the bigger reward later of losing the weight we need to lose. That’s why we got to get accountability partners to make sure we follow through.
